We do not sell your personal information. We will ask for your permission before tracking you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run the Service, with:
- Plant identification and plant health providers, which receive the photos you submit (and location, if you allowed it) to return identification and diagnosis results.
- AI model providers, which receive your chat messages, any photos you attach and relevant details about your plant collection so the assistant can answer.
- Apple, which processes payments and subscriptions.
- Hosting, storage, analytics and crash-reporting providers, which help us operate the Service.
- Authorities or other parties, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or us.
- A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
About your photos: some of our plant identification providers may keep the photos you submit and use them to improve their own recognition models. Please do not submit photos that show people, faces, documents or other personal information.
4. Legal bases (EEA and UK users)
We process your personal data on these legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the Service you asked for, including identification, diagnosis, chat, reminders and subscriptions.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, fix problems and improve features, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: for optional features such as location access and notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where we must keep or disclose information by law.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your photos, plant collection and chat history for as long as you use the Service, so you can see your history. You can delete individual items in the app, or ask us to delete all of your data. We delete or anonymize data we no longer need, except where we must keep it for legal, tax or security reasons. Information held by our service providers is kept according to their own retention policies.
6. International transfers
Our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own, including the United States and countries in the European Union. When we transfer personal data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California and other U.S. states may have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@florascan.win. We will respond within the time required by law. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
You can also control permissions for the camera, photos, location and notifications in your device settings at any time.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age that applies in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will let you know in the app or by other reasonable means before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised.
